Two days ago I bought a license to use your software, why have I not
received a registration code yet?
Registration codes are sent by email within one business day (usually within a few
hours) of receiving your order.
However, due to the high level of spam (unsolicited emails) in circulation over the Internet
today, legitimate emails are often deleted by mistake either automatically or manually. If you
haven't received your registration code within one business day of placing your order,
please start with checking the 'Deleted Items' folder of your email client (e.g. Outlook,
Eudora, etc.) for an email with the subject 'ProductName X Registration' where
ProductName is the name of the product you ordered and X is the base version
number (e.g. 'Loan And Mortgage 2 Registration'). This email comes from 'Felitec Sales'.
If you cannot find this email and need your registration code to be resent to you, please
click here to retrieve your license/registration details directly
from our web site.

I have received my registration code, but the program won't accept it.
Am I doing something wrong?
Please make sure that your name, the name of your company (if one is provided) and your
registration code are entered exactly as provided, no more and no less. This
information is case sensitive and the program will refuse any discrepancy, no matter how
insignificant it may appear to you. For example, even an additional space character
added between your first and last name will be rejected.
Your registration details are also not interchangeable between programs;
Account Xpress registration details will not work with Loan And Mortgage and vice versa.
Please make sure that you are trying your registration details with the right program.

If I register your program, will my registration ever expire and will I have
to buy a new registration again each time a new version of the program is released?
Software registrations do not expire and will continue to work with all minor releases
of the program for which they have been acquired. In other words, all minor releases are free
to registered users.
Upgrading to a new major version is optional and registered users of a prior version are entitled
to a discount when upgrading to a new major version.
TOP
What is the difference between a minor version and a major version upgrade?
A major version denotes major program enhancements or a complete redesign of the program.
A minor version denotes minor program enhancements and/or bug fixes.
The first digit of the version number determines if an upgrade is major or minor. If the first
digit is different between two versions of the software then the upgrade is major. If the
first digit is the same for both versions then the upgrade is a minor one.
For example, upgrading from Account Xpress version 2.0d to version 3.1.2 is a major upgrade
(from 2.x to 3.x) while upgrading from version 3.1.2 to version 3.2.4 is a minor
upgrade (from 3.x to 3.x).

I just installed a copy of your software on my new computer
with Windows Vista and the help file is not accessible, why is this happening?
Starting with Windows Vista, Microsoft decided NOT to ship WinHlp32.exe
with any new version of their operating system. WinHlp32.exe is required to
display the help files included in the copy of our software that you installed
on your new Vista computer. You must download and install WinHlp32.exe on your
computer in order to be able to view any 32-bit .hlp files on that computer.

Do you have a user-guide or tutorial that I can use to better
understand all the new features, reports and graphs in Account Xpress?
We are currently working on a complete user-guide and instructional videos to
help you get started faster and better understand all the new features in Account Xpress.
Until then, please review the 'Getting Started' and 'User Interface' sections
of the help file to better understand the basic functionality of the program.
Select the 'Contents' option of the 'Help' menu to get to these topics.
Account Xpress has a unique user interface not found in traditional personal finance
management programs. Although it can be a bit intimidating at first to the novice, this
interface is very similar to the Windows Explorer interface and allows you to navigate
quickly and easily between different views of the program, making it faster and easier
to find the information you need.
Do not let Account Xpress intimidate you with its unique user interface and its large number of
features. Most features are optional and you only need to understand the basic ones in order
to be able to use the program to properly manage your personal finances. If you already know
how to use Windows Explorer and have a basic understanding of personal finance management
then getting started with Account Xpress should be very simple and straightforward.

Is it possible to keep the Account Xpress program on two PCs and
share data between the two?
In theory it is perfectly feasible, but in practice this could be the perfect recipe
for a disaster depending on how this will be accomplished. Account Xpress was not designed
as a multi-user application with many users updating the same data at the same time.
If the file containing your Account Xpress data is stored PERMANENTLY on a media that is
SHAREABLE (floppy diskette or network drive) by both of your computers then, just make sure that
you only update your data from one PC at a time and save your work before starting to update the
data again from the other PC (i.e. the file should be opened only by one application at a time).
If you have two copies of the file (one on each PC) and expect to synchronize them by copying
the file back and fort between the two PCs then the chances are that someday you will update
the file on one PC and then forget to copy the file to the other PC. This is when the disaster
will start.
For example, let's say you update the file on computer A and then forget to copy it to computer
B. If you now update the file on computer B then you end-up having two files that can not be
synchronized anymore (i.e. if you copy the file from computer B to A then you overwrite the
changes made on computer A that are not on computer B and vice-versa.

Is it possible to print the graphs in Account Xpress?
Account Xpress does not have this feature at this point. This feature is on our list of future
enhancements.

I just created a new transaction in Account Xpress, but it seems
like it disappeared immediately after I clicked the OK button to save it, where did it go?
The transaction date of the transaction you just created is probably outside the currently
selected period. Change the period to cover the date of the new transaction, and the transaction
should reappear in its respective list(s).
NOTE: The default period that is selected each time a file is opened is customizable through
the File Properties dialog. On the File menu, click Default period to change
the default period that is automatically selected each time your file is opened.

Does Loan And Mortgage calculate simple interest tables?
Loan and Mortgage was designed mainly to calculate compound interest amortization
schedules, but can be used to calculate simple interest tables also. Please look for
'simple interest' in the help file for the complete instructions.
TOP
What is the difference between "Variable and Constant" methods of
calculating interest in Loan And Mortgage?
When the "Constant" method is used, the percentage of interest calculated on each
regular payment (interest factor) does not change from one payment to another. This
is always the case for Daily, Weekly and Bi-Weekly payment frequencies where the number
of days between regular payments does not change.
However, for Semi-Monthly, Monthly, Quarterly, Semi-Annual and Annual payment frequencies,
the number of days between regular payments is not constant given the fact that the number
of days from one month to another varies from 28 to 31. In this case, any of the two
methods can be used. The "Constant" method will assume that the interest factor does not
change regardless of the number of days between regular payments. The "Variable" method on
the other hand, will calculate a different interest factor for each regular payment based
on the number of days since the last payment.

What is the name of the file in which my list of events is stored and where can I find it?
Originally, your list of events is stored in a file called Mindful.bin located in the
folder where Mindful itself is installed ('C:\Program Files\Felitec\Mindful', where
C is the drive on which Windows is installed). However, your event file may be stored
under a different name and/or location if you saved it using the Save as command on the
File menu.
To determine the current name and location of your file, on the File menu, click Save as
to display the Save As dialog. On the Save As dialog, the Save in box
displays the current location of your file and the File name box displays its current name.
Once you have determined the name and location of your file, you can close the Save As
dialog by clicking Cancel.
TOP
How can I take a backup copy of my list of events?
Your list of events can be backed-up using any backup software. If you are not
using any backup software, you can simply copy the file to a backup location of your choice
using Windows Explorer.
IMPORTANT - Pending changes not yet saved to your event file will not be included in your
backup. You should issue a save command (on the File menu, click Save) prior to
running a backup to ensure that all recent changes will be copied.
TOP
How can I restore my list of events from a backup copy?
To restore your list of events from a backup copy, proceed as follows...
- Start Mindful (if not already running)
- On the File menu, click Save as (you don't have to
actually save the file unless you want to restore your backup copy
under a name and/or location different than the current ones)
- Take note of the name and location of your event file as they appear in
the Save As dialog
- Click Cancel to close the Save As dialog
- Close Mindful (on the Application menu, click Exit)
- Restore the backup copy of your event file over the file name and
location noted in step 3
- Restart Mindful (it should now read your restored file)

I just installed a new version of Mindful and now nothing seems to be happening when the
program starts. Did the installation work properly or am I doing something wrong?
The installation probably worked properly and you are probably not doing anything wrong either.
Starting with version 1.1, Mindful starts minimized when your list of events does not contain any
event due for notice. Check the notification area on your screen (bottom right corner), the
Mindful icon should appear in it. Simply click the icon to display your list of events again.
TOP
My list of events now appears maximized all the time.
How can I change it back to its original size?
You may have closed Mindful while its main window was in its maximized state. To restore Mindful's
main window to a smaller size, try the following...
- Click the window icon in the top left corner of Mindful's main window
- If the restore option is available, click it to take the window out of its
maximized state
- Resize the window as desired by dragging its edges
TOP
I can not see my list of events, even when I click on the Mindful icon in the
notification area. Why is this happening and what can I do to see my list of events again?
It looks like Mindful's main window is displayed outside of your screen boundaries. One
possibility for this to happen is if someone changes your screen resolution from higher to
lower (e.g. from 1024 x 768 to 800 x 600).
To relocate Mindful's main window back into your screen boundaries, try the following...
- Click the Mindful icon in the notification area once to restore its main window
(even if you don't see Mindful's main window at this point, it should still be there)
- While holding down the Alt key, press the space bar once
- Press the letter 'm' on your keyboard once
- Press the up arrow once
- Without pressing any mouse button, move the mouse cursor around your screen
- When you see the Mindful main window re-appear, click the left mouse button once
to fix it to its new position
